The road to college is a very exciting time for you; unfortunately, it is likely that the college admission counselor at your school has hundreds of students to work with, making it very difficult to give you the individualized attention you need and deserve. That is where I come in. With my six years of college admission counseling experience and working successfully with hundreds of students throughout Southern California and beyond, I will assist you in navigating your college search and application process; helping you find schools that are the “right fit” for you, and working with you to present yourself in the best possible light in order to increase the likelihood of your college admission.

It is a fact that college counselors at most public high schools have close to 500 students to work with regarding their college choice, application process, and selection. According to data from the US Department of Education, the national student-to-counselor ratio is 488:1. Carrie believes that is it impossible for any school counselor, no matter how good they are, to give all their almost 500 students the individual attention they need and deserve when it comes to the college admission process; there just aren’t enough hours in the day. In fact, according to the 2006 NACAC State of College Admission Report, public school counselors spend roughly 25% of their time on college counseling while their private school counterparts spend 58% of their time on college counseling. Carrie, herself, consulted with a private college counselor when she was a junior and senior in high school. Carrie realizes that the college search, application, and selection process is an overwhelming process for most people; it is her goal to help you and your family through the college admission process.
