About Us

Carrie Slatoff, founder of The Right Fit College Counseling, is a Southern California native, raised in the San Fernando Valley, with the value that going to college was not an option, it was a given.  She did not venture too far from home to earn a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from the University of California at Santa Barbara. Next, Carrie attended California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks to receive her Master of Science Degree in School Counseling and Guidance as well as a Pupil Personnel Services Credential.

After spending the first three years of her career as a Guidance and College Counselor at a public high school in the San Fernando Valley, with a caseload of over 600 students, Carrie decided that she wanted to be able to work more closely with her students so she switched to a private school in the San Fernando Valley working as their College Counselor.  Carrie is in her third year at the private school and is looking forward to working even more one-on-one with students in her private practice.

Carrie is a member of WACAC (Western Association for College Admission Counseling), NACAC (National Association for College Admission Counseling), and HECA (Higher Education Consultants Association).

“There is not too much I can say that would properly summarize all that you have done for me.  I just want you to know that it made my senior year a little less stressful to know that anytime I had a college, or any life problem, that you were available.  For all the hours of counsel and words of encouragement…thank you."

“Thank you for everything that you do!!! This is a by far one of the most important journeys we will be on with our son and thank you for being on this journey with us. God bless you for being calm in the eye of the storm. Thank you for always calling right back and never finding any question too small or too insignificant.”
